Make sure not to release these crystals when a spider is around, because the spider will steal the crystals and turn them into eggs, which unleash dangerous green spiders around the arena. Collecting 10 of these red crystals upgrades your dagger shot. Shoot at the red crystals in the floating tentacled spawners that produce floating skulls and take out the horned skull produced by each spawner to obtain another red crystal. Clearing waves of enemies means more breathing room, which means a longer survival rate, which means a higher score! You'll encounter the same types of enemies at set times, so picking up on patterns and figuring out a routine that works for you will help you take out waves quicker. It may be extremely challenging and have permadeath, but things don't spawn randomly. Getting a good grip on the movement system is vital if you want to survive in Devil Daggers.ĭevil Daggers is not a roguelike. Practice circle strafing, bunny hoping, and dagger jumping in the early stages, before too many enemies spawn. Jumping while shooting a shotgun blast at the ground below you lets you "dagger jump." You'll fly higher and farther this way, which is vital for outrunning enemies. ![]()
